EXPRESS ENTRY
Canada needs high levels of immigration to meet current and fututre labour market needs, which will ensure it's economic growth and long-term prosperity.
Express Entry will allow Citizenship and Immigration Canada to actively recruit, asses and select skilled immigrants under the following federal economic immigration programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program.
- Federal Skilled Trades Program.
- Canadian Experience Class.
The Express System involves 2 Steps:
Step 1. Citizenship and Immigration Canada will asses the applicant's online profile. Those who meet the criteria of one of the above programs will be place in a pool of candidates.
Step 2. Based on points earned for skills, work experience, language ability, education, and other factors, Citizenship and Immigration Canada will invite certain candidates to apply for Permanent Residence and process their applications. Under the new Express Entry Program, Citizenship and Immigration Canada committs to process the applications in a periods of time no longer than six months.
